Daniel Chimal is a Berlin-based illustrator from Mexico City, making bold, colourful illustration for editorial, commercial and design projects.

Daniel’s work is driven by vibrant colour, everyday life, and a lasting interest in the relationship between images and objects. He looks for the beauty in ordinary things, and gives them a presence of their own. It grows out of the folk art and visual energy of Mexico City, where he grew up, and the openness of Berlin, where his ideas took shape.

Alongside editorial and commercial work, Daniel is currently exploring how his visual language translates beyond the page.
