Daniel Chimal is a Berlin-based illustrator from Mexico City, creating colourful, stylish illustration for editorial, commercial and design projects.

His work is full of personality and driven by everyday life: architecture, objects and lifestyle, seen with an optimistic eye. He looks for the beauty in ordinary things and gives them a presence of their own.

His style grows out of the folk art and visual energy of Mexico City, where he grew up, the openness of Berlin, where his ideas took shape, and his training in architecture.

Alongside editorial and commercial work, Daniel is currently exploring how his visual language translates beyond the page.
